I just realized. I've got a huge assed sword and nothing to do with it.

Kind of want to cut some meat with it. I think he'd yell. I think it'd be kind of hot.

So you're a sort of faerie?

[identity profile] oni-pandemonium.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
What? No!

We're like...what's the word..."ogres"?

[identity profile] piskiestix.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
... that's a type of faerie.

[identity profile] oni-pandemonium.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
If anything, fairies are more like a type of youkai.

[Westerners] The magical creatures of Japan!

[identity profile] piskiestix.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
So anything that's magical in Japan is called a youkai?

[identity profile] oni-pandemonium.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Well, not everything. There's gods, and spirits, and ghosts, and demons, and magicians and shrine maidens that are human.

[identity profile] piskiestix.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Right. I think faerie is used for a different sort of group.

[identity profile] oni-pandemonium.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
Same with youkai.

The things we call fairies are called "yousei" in Japanese, but I'm pretty sure they're what most Westerners think of as fairies.

Kaye. And you're Suika?

[Blinks ... then takes a swig. It wasn't half bad. Kind of plumby?]
